Hope you are enjoying the new and improved newsletter! Still some tweaking going on behind the scenes as we get everything looking and reading right. At the same time trying to get out and enjoy this amazing weather and get in as much kite flying as we can.
This weekly snippet of sharing things in the kite world has been one of the things that has kept the Fortuna Found HQ humming along and feeling motivated to keep flying kites. The new Silent 60 that has been launched recently for the German owner. This is the first unit of the model while eight more hulls are currently under construction and 17 are ordered in total. What makes it even greener is that it was built with a kite wing, a special system that in contrast to conventional sailing yachts, does not require a big mast and the kite sail generates much more power per square meter than a conventional sail.

In May, Malliouhana, Auberge Resorts Collection, announced the addition of some children's programming that is so cool it will leave adult travelers a bit jealous. The new summer children's program, known as Mini-Explorers, "encourages young guests to learn new skills, make friends, and take part in a wide range of creative activities that will immerse them in the local Anguillian culture."
Kids can also take part in an Anguilla kite-making class. "A favorite pastime for locals, the tradition of flying kites is the perfect way to enjoy the island's sandy beaches," the resort adds. Children will learn about the history of kite flying in the area while crafting their own kites. UPCOMING EVENTS
South Lyon Kite Festival is taking place (Covid Permitting) on June 4-6. This kiting event is in conjunction with the cities festival. There will be big kites, stunt and kite team demos, free fly and kids kite making. Also the city has a reptile show, live music stage, food vendors, drone racing and much more. Hosted by the City of South Lyon and Kites and Fun Things this is an event you don't want to miss
The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department and the “Wings on Strings” Kite Club are sponsoring the 27th annual Jamestown kite festival on Friday, June 11th, to Sunday, June 13th, 2021, at Meidinger Park Field (10th ST. & 17th AVE. S.W.)
Kitty Hawk Kites and friends will be displaying amazing 30 – 100 ft kites on top of Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Join us and fly a kite of your own, take part in FREE stunt kite lessons, kite coloring for the kiddos, or just sit back, relax and enjoy the spectacular kites as they fly in the sky.
